“Clearly hit a nerve”: FAVORIT partner conference in Wuppertal and Essen with a focus on sustainability

Sustainability has gained in importance faster than the regulations stipulate and is having an increasing impact on business in the PVH sector. In many cases, however, it is not yet completely clear what the specific consequences will be in day-to-day business. So it’s good to be able to discuss this with strong partners – as was the case at the FAVORIT partner conference in April.

Always having its finger on the pulse and staying ahead of the competition – that is FAVORIT’s claim. With smart services for individual eye and hearing protection from the exclusive trademark ForSec, among other things, the group of strong occupational safety distributors in E/D/E has established a leading position in the industrial customer segment. The fact that these customers also have high demands when it comes to sustainability is becoming increasingly apparent. For this reason, E/D/E offered its partners a platform for information and exchange.

“Our aim was to bring distributors and the relevant suppliers together and discuss ways of tackling the issue together,” explains Marco Spannagel, Head of Supplier, Product Group and Sales Concept Management Personal Protective Equipment & Technical Trade at E/D/E. Representatives from 25 suppliers and members of the FAVORIT Group accepted the invitation to Wuppertal and Essen.

First stop: eFabrik
However, sustainability was not the only topic of the FAVORIT conference: Because the first item on the program took the participants to Wuppertal, where they were able to see for themselves in theory and practice the advantages of efficient C-parts supply (see the adjacent interview) in the newly designed eFabrik – advantages that also arise in particular for occupational safety articles, as demonstrated by some dispensing machines developed exclusively for and together with the FAVORIT Group, including for gloves.

The participants traveled from Wuppertal to Essen to focus on sustainability against the backdrop of the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex World Heritage Site. After a joint welcome by Marco Spannagel and Christian Coenen, Managing Director of Coenen Neuss GmbH & Co. KG, E/D/E first presented its self-image on the topic. This was followed by contributions from Bettina Roth, VAUDE, and Nicole Wallner, Drees & Sommer. A subsequent panel discussion and the lively participation of the participants clearly showed the relevance of the topic, which the FAVORIT Group will continue to pursue with high priority together with the E/D/E Group.

Discussion and exchange until the evening
“The discussions and exchanges continued at our joint evening event. With the main topic of the conference, we clearly struck a chord with our FAVORIT group. It was simply great to see how dynamic the discussions were and how many new ideas and impressions the participants left with,” says Marco Spannagel, summarizing the successful event.
