Technical trade meets in Hamburg

Under the motto “Time for change – the path to the future”, the E/D/E technical trade specialist group met in the Hanseatic city in mid-May for its annual conference. In addition to future digital service offerings such as the new sealing technology microsite and the further development of current and future own brands, the main topic of the conference was the current market situation surrounding perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances, or PFAS for short. Over 10,000 persistent chemicals are to be banned in the future. This would have a significant impact on many areas of industrial and construction-related applications in which the substances are used, and consequently also on all supply chains. E/D/E will continue to actively pursue and support the topic as part of a working group in order to make the key information available in a timely manner. Read more about PFAS from page 60 in the “Sector in focus” section.

In the afternoon, partners from the industry expanded the circle of participants and listened to a keynote speech by Anja Förster on the challenges of a change process in a company. “The active cooperation with the industry and the possibilities of the new marketing concept ‘TECHNIK kommt an’ represent a great opportunity for joint development,” Andreas Schäfer is certain. “Partnerships between industry and trade are increasingly being accompanied by mutual process-related networking of systems,” adds the Team Leader Technical Trade at E/D/E. In addition, Ralph Wegmann, Head of EDI Services at E/D/E, provided information on the possibilities of digital processes, such as the EDI Clearing Center. With the support of the Clearing Center, order processes and payment issues, among other things, are to be mapped more efficiently. The event was rounded off with a visit to industry partner Arcus Dichtelemente in Seevetal.
